In the time of the record player: travelling through the Portuguese phonographic production

9 May 2007 - 23 June 2007

The Music Museum recalled the Portuguese phonographic production of the 60ies and 70ies in an exhibition of records with different kinds of musical genres corresponding to the first big survey of items of that period ever carried out in Portugal.

The aim of the exhibition was to show Portuguese music having records selected by the ethnomusicologists António Tilly and João Carlos Callixto where records of Simone de Oliveira, Carlos do Carmo, Sheiks, José Cid, Banda do Casaco, José Afonso and lots of oters could be found, many of these records could be heard by the visitors in listening points gently provided by Creative Labs Portugal.

The exhibition was organised in a partnership with INET, RDP and with the contribution of private collections for yielding some records.
