Fender 60 years: 1946-2006

Exhibition dedicated to the 60 years of Fender, revealing some of the electric and bass guitars, as well as amplifiers that contributed  to the fame of this trademark, with which musicians such as Eric Clapton, Sting or Jimi Hendrix are associated.

Among the exhibited  instruments there were “Signature Strat” of Eric Clapton, “Precision Bass” with Sting´s signature and fussy “Stratocaster” Buddy Guy Polka Dot which this musician of blues dedicated to the Portuguese public. There were guitars spread inside the area of the Museum to enable the visitors to play them freely.

The exhibition, which was integrated in the International Museum Day and in the Museum Night, had a special programme with live music, electric guitar workshops, a conference about the cultural phenomenon of Fender and the offer of a guitar to the visitor who wrote the best sentence about Fender, the museum and young people.
